3,700 Meters in the Sky! The Famous Mount Rinjani

This week, I traveled to the island of Lombok to hike Mount Rinjani with my friend, Annie. Rinjani is a famous mountain and active volcano in Indonesia. It took three days to hike!

We used walking sticks the entire way up the mountain--very helpful!

The first day, we climbed 2,640 meters, which is about 8,660 feet. This was our campsite looking down the mountain!
At the camp, on one side is a beautiful view of the valley. On the other side, there is a big lake
Hiking with Annie at 2:00 a.m.--we woke up early so that we could see the sunrise!
It was super dark hiking at 2:00 a.m.!
We watched the sunrise from the very top of the mountain
We made it all the way to the top--3,726 meters (12,224 feet) high!
