When I first saw the stuffed animal version of the frogs in Salamanca, I felt really happy, if a little surprised: I just wasn't expecting to see so many different kinds of frogs everywhere, here! I love stuffed animals, so seeing the frogs in different colors, sizes and styles definitely made me happy. The city of Salamanca started feeling more comforting and less scary to me because of its love of frogs!
Usually, frogs live near water. They can be found in ponds, lakes and rivers. They need to be near water, but they can also be found in deserts and forests. In these places they hide underground to stay cool and wet. Water helps them survive--without water, a drog cannot survive for a very long.
Frogs need to live by water to survive because water helps them breathe and stay healthy. They also use plants and leaves to hide from dangerous animals. Not all frogs are lucky enough to be near water all the time, though, so those frogs dig underground holes to stay cool until it rains.
There are many animals, such as birds, snakes and fish, that eat frogs. We are also experiencing climate change, which affects the water levels in rivers. This can harm frogs because they need water to survive. There is also a lot of pollution in the air and water, which can be dangerous to frogs' health. As humans we need to keep frogs safe, and we can do that best by keeping the environment clean and safe.
