Hi friends! When I visited South Korea, I met Eugene and her family at church. She is a fourth grader who attends an international school in Seoul. This means she studies both in English and in Korean. I had a short interview with her and her family to tell you all a bit about her life!
My name is 정유진 (Jung Yoo-Jin) and my English name is Eugene. In South Korea, we say our last name first, so my last name is Jung and my first name is Yoo-jin.
I live in an apartment in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul. It has three rooms: an office for my mom, a room for me, and a room for my parents. We have a big kitchen with two refrigerators because one is used only for our kimchi. Kimchi is a spicy cabbage that is fermented, which means it lasts a long time but also has a strong smell.
My mom is very short and my dad is very tall. I do not have any siblings, but I do visit my grandparents in Ansan very often. We like to ride bikes and go to photobooths together.
