It is always very hot and humid in Leticia, as it is in the Amazon Rainforest, which is a tropical climate. While the temperature may only be 88 degrees, for example, it often feels like 95-100 degrees because of the humidity. We are entering rainy season right now, so it is starting to get more cloudy and it rains a lot every day. When it rains here, it pours! But it is usually not very windy or thunder and lightning. However, the rain can last hours, or even days. During rainy season, the Amazon River rises 15 meters.
I saw some monkeys in the trees and some pink dolphins in the river. Yes, there are dolphins in the Amazon River, and many of them are pink! They are amazing to watch. I also saw some green parakeets in the tree in my front yard!
