In order to understand the transportation of Chile, we need to first learn about Chile's geography. Chile stretches out vertically in Latin America, so Chileans mainly stick to just one way of transportation. We will also learn the effects this type of transportation has on Chileans.
Transportation in Chile generally takes place on land. The most popular methods of transportation in the city of Santiago are common ones such as by buses, subways, bicycles and taxis. At times, public transport systems are busy and you cannot always use their service. Public transportation is also not available at all times, even when Chileans need them most. These rigid schedules are extremely difficult for a lot of people. For example, if you need to leave at 8am and the bus is scheduled to start at 9am, this might complicate your plans for the day. If you are lucky, your job might be just a 15-20 minute walk away. However, if this was not the case, imagine walking to work every day for 40+ minutes. That’s exhausting!
