Once selected, the foreign firm will send its architects to partner with Chinese architects to build the project in question. The city of Shanghai is also one of the largest in the world in terms of population. This makes it very crowded and noisy all the time. To cater to the transportation needs for such a populated city, urban planners developed an expansive metro system. The metro goes to nearly every district and has trains running every couple of minutes at each stop from 6a.m. to 11p.m. every day. This makes getting around the city convenient and inexpensive. Shanghai also has a bike-share system, so people can rent a bike to get around. These and other factors make Shanghai vastly different from other places in China. There’s always something going on and new things to try. It is sometimes referred to as "the New York of China" and, after living here, I can understand why.
Living in such a large and busy city can be very stressful, so it is good to have a way to escape by relaxing and pursuing a hobby. Fortunately, there are many places within the city designed to enable people to de-stress, such as tea houses and large parks. The latter are used by many people who like to play sports, such as play soccer and basketball, or pursue exercise, such as Tai chi and running. I recently went to a large neighborhood park and saw people playing instruments, painting and enjoying a game of cards.
