This week I stayed in Siena, and since it’s a fairly small city I don’t have to walk too far from one side of the town to the next. The furthest I traveled was probably to work!
Last semester, I was able to travel a lot! I went on day trips to places in Tuscany like Florence and Montepulciano. I also went on weekend trips to visit my friends and family in Berlin and London! At the start of March, I will travel to Switzerland for a weekend and to Paris two weeks later.
I am able to walk everywhere in the city – which is great. My apartment is right in the center of town, and only a two minute walk to the nearest grocery store and my gym. It’s about five minutes from the piazza, and about eight minutes from the bus stop. I take the bus to work since walking would take 45 minutes (a bit too long for me, especially during the rainy season).
This week on one of my walks I decided to visit the Duomo (dome), the big cathedral in town. To me, this is one of the most gorgeous sites in the world, with its large marble construction and asymmetrical statues lining the front.
