When navigating the tube (the most-cost-effective, and most Londoners' first choice of transport), I enter, and traverse down a couple of flights of stairs, and follow signs to the train of my liking, much like New York City’s public transport. I grew up in a rural, countryside area (think farms, and cows!) and never experienced public transport growing up. However, when I went to college in Buffalo, I took public transport to my first internship in college, which soundly prepared me for the tube here in London, so it’s not too bad of an adjustment! The tube is quick, fairly reliable and comfortable. Also, it gets quite busy after 6 o’clock here, meaning that anytime I catch the tube after this time, I get sandwiched in far too close to others. I’ve gotten elbowed, kicked, and had my foot run over with a suitcase so far, nothing too far out of the ordinary.
The double-decker buses (when sitting at the top of the bus) are quite lovely, and the view is beautiful to look at as you pass by various sights. The buses and bus stops are easy to navigate (you just get on, swipe your card, and you're on your way!) since the buses are very safe (thanks to the extra-large cameras inside).
The Uber Boat was an amazing experience; the scenery is lovely, the chairs are comfortable, it's very safe and fast, and it's quite easy to get on and off. I would recommend it to all of you to try, at least once!
