My mom works at CIEE Global Institute, the program where Madeline is studying and living. My dad is a professor at a Berlin university. He teaches maths!
School starts at 8am and ends at 2pm. I am doing an internship for one of my classes, so I do that until around 4pm.
I take public transit on my own to school most days. We don't drive a car because it takes too much time and effort in Berlin, which is a really big and busy city.
I usually eat lunch at school. When I'm not in school, my favorite option for lunch is to visit the döner kiosk. Döner is Turkish street food which is very popular around Berlin, like you can find it almost on every street. It's soooo good. Basically a delicious meat sandwich!
We speak both English and German. Half of the subjects are taught in English and half in German. If you want to say “Hello” in German you just have to say Hallo. So it’s almost like in English!
