Having a car is not common in the Netherlands because most people use public transportation. Only about 50% of my friends even have a driver's license! Getting your license is super expensive here--somewhere around 5,000 euros, or 5,700 U.S. dollars!
I usually wear jeans to work. My job does not require me to be too formal. At home, I wear comfortable clothing, but it is pretty similar to what I wear to work, which is lucky for me. If I go out with friends, I like to wear dresses sometimes. (Manon has the biggest closet I have ever seen.)
In my free time, which is rare, I hang out with friends. We like to go out to dinner or go out for coffee. I really enjoy going to concerts and museums when I have the time. I love to travel as well, but work can make that difficult to do sometimes.
I speak Dutch and English. I can understand German and French, but I do not speak them very well. "Hello" can be translated to Hoi or Hallo (Dutch), Gutentag (German) or Bonjour (French).
I do have a pet! Zuki is my cat. He is one year old. I always had cats growing up, but I did not have a cat for a few years. So, I decided to get a cat once I got my own place. (Manon loves Zuki more than anything. Super precious.)
