For this program, they require that I also complete course work each week to stay in the program, so on top of student teaching, I have been doing certain assignments. Another requirement is that I need to complete a minimum of 8 hours of volunteer work in the community. Though it is a requirement, volunteering is a great way to gain a large network of connections and to learn more about the people and culture of New Zealand. In all, I will be busy in New Zealand, but I also plan to explore the community and tourist attractions and to savor my time here.
