I drove three and a half hours to see different parts of the Highlands, which is located in the northern region of Scotland. Edinburgh is located in the Lowlands, which is the southern region.
This week, I visited the Highlands, which included beautiful sites like Glennfinnan, the Three Sisters of Glencoe and Loch Lomond. Glennfinnan is the furthest away from Edinburgh, and my tour group drove about 180 miles to get there.
I walked around Edinburgh, and during my weekend tours, I was driven around Scotland in a bus and a van. Walking in the city is very convenient, especially since my flat is only 12 minutes away from the main campus.
Glennfinnan, a small settelement in the Highlands, had to be the most interesting place I saw this week. While in Glennfinnan, not only did I get to see the Hogwarts Express in action, I also saw Loch Shiel, which is the lake that inspired the setting for Hogwarts in the Harry Potter series.
