Tropical World of Wonders

Something interesting that I’ve heard is that door frames are the strongest part of many homes, and they provide protection during earthquakes.

The Costa Rican government has also passed many laws to try to lessen the human impact on the environment. For example, in San Jose, there is a law that only permits a certain number of cars to be in the central part of the city. Each day, only cars with certain license plate numbers are allowed to be driven through the city. One important measure to protect the environment is the creation of protected areas. These are closely monitored areas of land that seek to protect the natural environment. Many of these areas are parks that are open to visitors, and others are off limits to the general public. This effort to protect the land is not only good for wildlife, but it also helps attract visitors.
