Meet Yok Do. Yok is a smart, lively Cambodian man. Yok is from a rural area in Cambodia and currently works as a guide and interpreter. He is also a farmer, like most people in Cambodia. Yok identifies as an ethnic minority, meaning he is not part of the Khmer majority. He grew up in a small village where they practice animism, a belief system where everything has a soul, including plants, objects and natural phenomena. Although Yok and I had very different upbringings, we connect as friends.
Yok teaches me a lot about Cambodian culture and way of life. He is always joking. I wonder if that is part of Cambodian culture or if it is just Yok's personality. I hope you can pick up on Yok's lifestyle and personality in this interview.

I live in Banlung city. My house is only four meters by five meters. The roof is metal and the walls are wood. There is only one room.
I have three sons, my wife and me. I have five people in my family. I have three sisters and I am the oldest.
