The week started off with unusually sunny and warm weather. It was about 72 degrees every day and the sun was shining! Today, the weather is a bit crisper, and temperatures for next week will be in the mid-50s. Fall weather in the Dresden region is usually in the mid-50s, so this past week of warm weather was a surprise.
I saw a number of cats this week in my neighborhood. Cats are popular pets here in Germany, but I also occassionally see stray cats on the streets too.
This week I hiked to the Basteibrücke (bast-eye brook-eh), which is in the Sächsische Schweiz (seks-si-sche shveitz) National Park. The Basteibrücke is a stone bridge, which allows for visitors to walk in the midst of large, awe-inspiring standstone formations. You can read more about my hike and the Basteibrücke in my latest field note!
