My community orchestra will be performing his music with Doldinger and his band in an upcoming concert, so I listened to some recordings of his music to prepare for our rehearsal.
I had a great time hiking in the Sächsische Schweiz National Park, and was totally blown away by the beauty of the park. I usually don't see a lot of nature during the week since Dresden is an urban city. It was nice to take a break and get some fresh air in the mountains.
To prepare for my 8th grade English class next week, I read a short novel called Underground New York. All of my students read this novel, which is about two German tourists who are visiting family in New York City and it tells about their adventures while sightseeing.
My hike in the Sächsische Schweiz National Park was fairly strenuous. To get to the Basteibrücke, I had to climb uphill for about 45 minutes. Luckily, there were many beautiful look-out points on the way up where I could catch my breath!
Since the weather was so nice, I tried to be outside as much as possible. I made a day trip to the nearby town of Meißen (my-sen) and walked around the old town area. Then I walked to the top of the hill in Meißen, where I visited the Albrechtsburg castle and the Meißen Dom, which is a cathedral attached to the castle.
