I want to dedicate my work to working in fields such as maternal and child health. I want to help study inequalities in health, such as breastfeeding education and more.
After working for a couple of years, I would like to focus on studying for my Doctorate in Public Health. This would allow me to continue practicing in the field.
Right now I am working towards achieving these goals by not only working hard and keeping up my grades in class, but also by asking questions. Every day, I take advantage of the support and guidance of mentors. I immerse myself in more learning experiences through internships and summer programs.
I have always enjoyed traveling. I personally love exploring new environments that I have never visited. Before going to college, I always knew I wanted to make sure I studied abroad at least once throughout my college career. Studying abroad is an amazing experience! It allows you to learn and live in a new environment and culture. You get to meet new people and learn from them. You can even learn a new language and step outside of your comfort zone.
As I am experiencing now, you also grow as a person when you study abroad. Not having your support system of friends and family close by you forces you to learn how to be more independent and build your self-confidence.
