Belgium is a magnificent country in Western Europe, so I love to be outside as much as possible. It has begun to rain a lot, and winter is coming soon, but the country is still so lively and wonderful. Being outdoors lets me enjoy the scenery and nature around me. There aren't a lot of wild animals living in the capitol of Belgium, so I've focused on a small, but important one: the bee. Unfortunately, I don't have photos of the bees in Belgium because they're so small and fast, but bees may be buzzing around in any of the environments pictured!
It is a small insect with black and yellow stripes. It has two wings to fly with, and two antennae. It is the size of pencil's eraser. This insect comes in varying types, including honey bees, bumblebees, mason bees, leafcutting bees and carpenter bees.
When I first saw this insect, I was scared. They are known for stinging people, and sometimes the stings can be quite painful. I learned last year, however, that not all bees can sting because they don't all have a stringer. I think they are very adorable insects because they are small and I love the color yellow, but I still became afraid when I saw how close it was getting to me. When I saw one particular bee, I was eating a steak and roasted potatoes in the backyard of my host family.
