Luckily, these otters have habitats that are protected by the government free from any human intervention. Hopefully I can squeeze in a visit before I leave Taiwan!
Here in Taipei, we are being housed in a resort that is close to several natural forests in the region of New Taipei City. I've had the opportunity to hike through trails that feature plants and trees that are native to Taiwan. Some of them were different versions of plants I had already seen before, such as their "sacred" bamboo and huge Areca palm trees. Others were trees I had never seen in my life. These included the "Formosan Nato Tree" (Formosa is the old Portugese name for Taiwan) and the poisonous Derris Vine.
Not many other news to report here but I look forward to discovering more of the beautiful nature in the future.
