It rained to kick off the new year! Our first days in the week were spent in southern Kenting, where the open air was windy and often drizzling with rain. Once we got back to Tainan, it grew warmer and sunnier.
Interestingly enough, I caught a quick glimpse of a bird that I had never seen before. It was a reddish-pink, seemed flightless and shaped almost like a dodo. If anyone has any leads on what they think I might have seen, please let me know!
I saw my first Taiwanese beach in Taiwan in Kenting during our trip. The waves were bold and powerful; I definitely took an unexpected splash or two while dipping my feet in the waves. The scenery was beautiful as well. Lush green hills and rugged mountains surrounded the shoreline. It reminded me much of my family visits to the Caribbean as a child and left me with warm feelings to close the holiday season.
