The trip from Tainan to Kaohsiung was further than it looked on the map - 148km to be exact. It was a solid two and a half hour drive to get there, but the highway sightseeing was definitely worth it.
Thanks to the Kenting trip, I've officially traveled through the whole East Coast! While I've yet to take a full stop in every city along the way, I feel accomplished having traversed as much ground as I have in only four months.
My friends and I used our friendly neighborhood taxis to get from Tainan to Kenting, but once I settled in back home I relied on my trusty two wheels - bicycle wheels that is. Scooters are a popular transportation method out here, and I've been hoping to get my hands on one soon. Until then, however, I'm happy pedaling to get to where I need to go.
Dawan Road is definitely the most interesting place I've been this past week. Lined on both sides with street vendors, international food offerings and all kinds of county-fair style games, the street was prepared for tourists from the moment we arrived. There was a long strip of road stretching from our hotel that was full of things to do on the way to the beach.
