¡Hola a todos! Hello everyone! My name is Miranda Almeida. I am 22 years old, I live in California, and I love to spend time outside enjoying the fresh air and learning about nature. I also love hiking and running along shady forest trails and surfing on powerful ocean waves. I am fascinated by marine life, and I am passionate about learning, experiencing and protecting the natural world.
I recently graduated from Soka University of America in Aliso Viejo, California where I studied liberal arts and environmental studies, and I also competed on the cross-country and track teams. Additionally, I studied Spanish at Soka, and after taking classes for two and a half years, I traveled to Heredia, Costa Rica for a semester to further develop my Spanish skills and to experience a culture different than my own. I lived with a Costa Rican host family, I took classes at La Universidad Nacional, and I had many opportunities to explore the country.
Studying in Costa Rica inspired me to experience more places in the world where I could continue to learn Spanish. Through the Fulbright Program, I now have the opportunity to live in Spain, teach English and practice Spanish. I hope you are excited to experience Spain with me!
