Sustainability means that we use our natural resources responsibly, so we, along with future generations, can use them for many years to come. Natural resources are things that the Earth produces such as water, wood and oil. Humans collect many natural resources to make man-made things such as plastic or paper.
One way to practice sustainability is to recycle. Recycling simply means that you use something more than one time. For example, when you are finished drinking from a plastic bottle, you can recycle the plastic, and the material will be broken down and used to make something else out of plastic. When we recycle, we produce less trash and we use less of the Earth's resources which is better for the environment.
Do you ever recycle? If so, what kind of materials do you recycle?
Using resources responsibly is important to the community in Spain because they value and respect the environment. That is why they practice recycling!
Just like the people in the United States, the people in Spain use many resources each day. Since we all use a lot of Earth's natural resources, it is responsible for us to recycle, so we don't use too many of the Earth's resources too quickly.
