It feels like we are old friends because we have something in common.
Another thing that made it easier to be a part of a community is that my eight year old daughter is going to school here. She gets invited to birthday parties and play dates with her classmates in the third grade, and I became friends with other parents in her class.
Since the coronavirus outbreak, we have all been staying inside to help stop the virus from spreading too fast. Have you had to stay inside too during the pandemic? Being inside all the time sometimes makes it hard to feel like I am still a part of my community. When I watch the news, though, I see that everyone else is staying inside, too. We are all stopping the virus from getting worse to protect ourselves and each ,other and that makes me feel connected to my community.
There are also a lot of ways to stay connected to the community while I am staying at home. For instance, I joined a group chat with the other parents in my daughter's class, I use video chat to talk to my coworkers, and my daughter sees her friends using video chat. How have you been able to stay connected to your community while staying indoors all these weeks?
