My house here in the DR is my happy place. It is one place here that truly feels like home. I love it for many reasons, but one of those reasons is my yard. We have many different types of flowers and plants in my yard that make it so beautiful. Because of the tropical climate, they are present and thriving year-round. My favorite of all the nature in my yard are the yellow flowers that adorn the tree in our front yard. They are called flor de mantequilla, or the golden trumpet, and I would love to tell you all about them.
La flor de mantequilla got its name from its bright yellow color that I love so much. It has round, soft petals and grows from a green stem with green leaves.
My first thought when I saw the tree and flowers was that they were beautiful. I was happy that there were such beautiful plants and nature at my house; it made me feel better. I was nervous when I first arrived, but I found comfort in the beauty of the nature here.
