I went to see a ballet this week! There was a visiting troupe from Moscow that put on Swan Lake at the Musical Theatre in Omsk. The ballet, of course, was beautiful. I had never seen Swan Lake, so it was really wonderful to see it live. I love watching dance, so I am really excited to see more dance performances in Omsk and in Russia.
I did a lot of reading this week. I finished To Kill a Mockingbird, which is a book I will be reading with my English classes. I also finished a book called In Siberia, a travel memoir in which a man travels across Siberia and talks about his experiences. Finally, I started The Master and Margarita, which is a classic Russian novel set in 1920s Moscow.
This week I did not make it to the gym, so I did not get to do any sports. However, I did find an ice skating rink in one of the malls in Omsk, and am going to be on the lookout for more ice rinks so I can go ice skating. I have also done some yoga and stretching at home.
The theme of my English club this week was Halloween! My students loved hearing about the history of Halloween and how we celebrate in the United States. How do you celebrate Halloween?
