A truck transporting produce pulled up at the stoplight where I was standing at the corner, waiting for the crosswalk light to turn green. A gentleman sitting in the front passenger seat with the window down, observed my look of uncertainty and automatically chimed in, offering to point me in the right direction. I laughed when I realized that my look of lostness was so transparent, and he confirmed that I was on the correct path. Folks here take pride in their knowledge of the various transportation systems and are eager to share their opinions of the best route to take. However, sometimes it is a good idea to ask for a second (or a third!) opinion. There is a sense of solidarity, knowing that we are all ants moving about a giant concrete forest trying to find our way to our respective destinations.
