In Spain, there are many traditional foods including jamón (ham), tortilla, and aceitunas (olives). They are all delicious and have unique flavors. Jamón (ham) is one of the most popular, as is tortilla. If I had to choose one of these to eat for the rest of the year in Spain, I would have to choose tortilla. For that reason, I'm going to explain a bit more about this classic dish!
Spanish tortilla is a staple food in Spain. It can be eaten for breakfast, lunch or dinner; and can also be eaten warm or cold! I have had it both ways and must say I prefer it warm. You can find premade tortillas in supermarkets like Mercadona and Día. However, the best tortilla I have had was at my school cafeteria. Our guy, Javi, makes them fresh every morning at 6:00 a.m. and a slice of it costs only two euros (approximately two US dollars). Of course, there are also many restaurants that make them, too. You just have to be sure to get one that isn't dry.
At first, I was a bit worried about the texture of tortilla because it is a combination of eggs and potatoes that are cooked for a long time. Sometimes, I find that eggs cooked like this have a weird texture. However, I started off easy with one of my friends and we both took a bite at the same time. It was pretty good!
