Fall has arrived in the Baja Peninsula! La Paz is located in a tropical desert, so it isn't the typical fall I grew up with in Ohio. Tropical deserts are located between latitudes of 5° and 30° and are known for having the most sunshine and heat of any climate on Earth. Because of this, we don't look forward to falling leaves! Instead, fall feels like chilly mornings and evenings, and the whole desert is blooming after the hurricane season. Many of the cactus flowers bloom, and hardy desert plans fill with water to prepare for the dry season ahead. Besides the beauty of the green desert, the lower temperatures are a welcome break after a summer where the average temperature is 100°!
