The weather this week was surprisingly warm for the first week of January. There was one day when it was close to 60 degrees! I’ve forgotten how to dress for warm weather. For half of the week, the weather was nice; blue skies with a few clouds and a slight chill in the air that the sun chased away in the early afternoon. It rained for the other part of the week and would sometimes get down to the low 40s, but that was mostly during the morning and early evening. The change in temperature did create some strong winds during parts of the day.
This week, I’ve spent most of my time in big cities so the animals I’ve seen have been of the urban variety. On the train, as we traveled from city to city, I saw deer in a field. They were very fuzzy with their winter coats. I saw Chickadees in the bushes on the pathway to my school. In Berlin, I saw people taking their dogs on a walk. The highlight was in Prague where I saw a cat in the window.
