The Black Mamba is not, as its name suggests, actually black in color, it has a gray and green appearance. The name derives from the color of the inside of its mouth, which you've guessed it, is black!

Other Nature News from this week:

Lots and lots of cheetah and conservation experts from current and historical cheetah ranges got together in Ethiopia this week to discuss best practices for saving cheetahs from extinction and making plans for the future. The Global Cheetah Summit was the first of its kind and ended with the signing of a declaration by all the participants. All the experts came to an agreement and outlined what needs to be done to save the cheetah ecosystem for future generations. The Summit required three years of planning to assemble everyone together. Hopefully, this summit will lead to successful outcomes for cheetahs.
