We are entering the rainy season. It is usually lasts from March until May. It has rained three days this week. Each time it rained, it was at the end of the day, around 4:00 p.m. Every morning and afternoon this week has been sunny. The average temperature has been 80 degrees.
I have seen goats, cows, chickens, rabbits and lizards. My neighbors also have two kittens. They came inside my house a couple of times!
I learned about cassava plants. I never knew what they looked like, but people eat cassava all the time here. When I visited my friend, we were walking to watch a basketball match and he pointed them out to me. Cassava plants look like trees, and you harvest the roots. That is where the cassava grows. You can also dry the leaves on the trees and grind them up. Then you can make a sauce called isombe (ee-som-bay).
