The weather this week in Jeongeup is starting to heat up! We had many beautiful sunny days and it finally feels like spring is here. The cherry blossoms are saying goodbye and every time the wind blows, a handful of petals float away with it. Many trees are beginning to sprout new leaves so the world is looking greener each day. As it gets warmer without rain, however, people have to be extra careful because it's easy for dry plants and trees to catch fire. I hear warnings about forest fires regularly!
I see magpies and herons daily here. My city is nestled in between some mountains so I regularly see birds flying from tree to tree and its a wonderful sight! It helps me remember that we are guests on this Earth and we need to protect our wildlife. There are also many stray cats here so there is always a kitty around the corner. I've noticed some stores have put out food for them and you can see them lounging in the sun soaking up the heat.
