Overall, the weather is very nice in Greece in October! The worst weather that I experienced was during my first two days in Santorini. The day that I arrived, it rained so hard that the streets were like rivers! On the second day, it was sunny but there were also 35 mph winds.
In Athens, I saw some geese in a mini zoo in the National Gardens. I also saw small lizards on my climb up the Acropolis to the Parthenon. In Santorini, I passed donkeys in the streets of Fira, a large town located in the center of the island.
The coolest thing that I saw were the mountains in Meteroa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This region in central Greece is composed of jagged sandstone peaks that were formed by water. We explored the site in spooky fog, which added an element of mystery.
