Since I’m living near the equator, the weather has been really warm. It never gets cold here! In Indonesia, there are only two seasons: the dry season and the rainy season. Right now, it’s the rainy season, so it has been raining almost every day.
The rain doesn’t last long, though -- usually 30 minutes before stopping. Sometimes, the day starts off bright and sunny before clouds roll in and bring the rain. Other times, it’s the opposite! This week, most mornings have been rainy, and the afternoons have stayed cloudy, but there were a few fully sunny days, too.
There are cats everywhere here! There are some that live around my dorm, and I even see them wandering into my classroom while I’m teaching. It’s fun getting to pet them in the middle of a lesson! I even had a surprise encounter with a lizard -- one crawled into my backpack! If I hadn’t noticed it in time, I might have accidentally taken it home with me.
