Compared to other weeks here, this week was a lot cooler since we just recently entered autumn this month, but that does not mean much in Australia. Some days, I experience hot, sunny, windy, cold and even rain during the hot days. Like all the locals say: "Melbourne weather is unpredictable; you can find four seasons in one day!"
I went to the Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park this week and saw many dangerous and many cute animals. The ones I enjoyed seeing the most were a kangaroo, an emu and a Tasmanian devil. An emu is a large flightless bird native to Australia, and it is the second largest bird in the world after the ostrich. The Tasmanian devil is the world's largest carnivorous marsupial, eating up to 40% of its body weight in one day! All three of these animals are native to Australia!
