It’s rainy season in Timor-Leste, which means most days have showers, but they usually don’t last long. I actually like the wind because it cools things down in this hot place. Anytime it’s cooler, it feels like a little gift from nature.
Animals are everywhere here! Chickens, pigs, cows, goats and even water buffalo roam around like they own the place. When I ride my bike or go walking, I always run into some kind of animal—it’s just part of everyday life in Timor-Leste.
The coolest thing I saw this week was hiking in the Dare hills above Dili. The air felt cooler, the hills were beautiful and the views of the city were amazing. Afterward, we stopped at a café on the hilltop to enjoy some food and coffee while looking over the city. It was the perfect end to the hike.
