The weather does not change very much! We have two seasons: wet and slightly less wet. I always forget which one we're in, but this past week, the days have typically started out with sun, then rain in the early afternoon, and then it clears up slightly in the early evening.
This week was slightly abnormal since I went cave exploring in another Amazonian community. Inside the caves, I saw bats, a type of bird called an "oilbird" or "tayo" in Spanish, scorpion-spiders, tarantulas and cockroaches. Outside of the cave, in the jungle, I saw geckos, centipedes, leaf-bugs, snails, a monkey and so many birds (crested and russet-backed oropendolas, blue and gray tanagers, saffron finches, etc...).
The coolest thing I saw in nature this week is hard to pinpoint! However, I saw these spiders with crazy pinchers in the caves that were bigger than my face, which I know because I put it on my face! They are called scorpion spiders.
