It is officially the "cold season" here in Thailand. This means that the temperature tops off at around 85 degrees Fahrenheit in the daytime and gets down to about 60 degrees Fahrenheit at night.
This week, I saw a lot of dogs throughout Khon Kaen, a frog on my front doorstep, a cockroach in a restaurant and a large millipede making its way across my driveway.
There are countless geckos that run around my home, most of which are no longer than three inches. Last night, I came home to a tokay gecko, a different kind of lizard that measured about 12 inches long! It was huge!
My friend told me that the government has officially announced that the "cold season" has begun. As a result, market vendors can start selling their heavy jackets and coats, regardless of the fact that it was still 80 degrees Fahrenheit outside this week.
