The weather was deceptively good this week! Mornings were sunny and hot. All of Sri Lanka is currently going through a drought, so this was nothing new. The dams nearby Nuwara Eliya are practically dry, so the whole island is experiencing power cuts. This being said, we finally had rain! It was joyful and simultaneously, well, not joyful, because it hit on my walk home... and I didn't have enough money on me for a tuk-tuk.
I didn't see many new animals this week, just more of the same, stray dogs galore with the occasional monkey thrown in. Oh, and so many mosquitos.
Rather than the "coolest" thing, I'm going to give you a quick play-by-play of my mosquito infestation. Unlike the rest of the house, I have upwards of twenty mosquitos in my bedroom and bathroom combined every morning and evening. These mosquitos are not quite as vicious as those I have encountered in Minnesota, because the bites are usually gone by morning, but these insects are loud.
