The weather on Fuerteventura is sunny and warm almost all year long, and this week was no different. The people here have told me to only expect four or five days of rain in the nine months I'm here!
There isn't a lot of wildlife on the island. Each day on my walk to work, though, I see a stray cat that lives in an abandoned lot a block away from me. I also usually see some pigeons and a few gulls.
We have a lot of amazing beaches on the island, and this week I saw a new one a few miles south of the city. Playa las caletillas (Little Cove Beach) has amazing views and a nice sea breeze that keeps it cool.
One of the neat things about Fuerteventura is that it has more goats (about 250,000) on it than people (about 110,000). I haven't been able to see them yet, but it's definitely a goal I have for the near future!
