October seems to be coming in with a good bit of rain. Most days have been cloudy and chilly.
A local farm has Scottish Highland Cows that I saw on a hike this week. I also saw an interesting little green beetle while I was waiting for a train.
I asked one of the local teachers about the tree with green fruit in her yard. She told me they were almonds. I never knew where almonds grew or what they looked like on the tree, but I do now.
I went hiking up to a castle named Burg Trifels in the Palatinate Forest. The castle sits on a rocky hill made of red sandstone, and most of the castle seems to have been built from that same stone.
