For example, it is quite common for supermarkets to significantly reduce the price of food that is approaching its expiration date. This is beneficial as it makes food more affordable, encourages shoppers to buy perfectly fine food for less and prevents it from going to waste. Something else that many Parisians do to be less wasteful is drying clothes on washing lines rather than resorting to using electric dryers. While it is not my favorite thing to do, since clothes can take a long time to dry and may not be as soft as when using a dryer, I did notice less damage overall to my clothes. This should help my clothes to last longer and all with the added benefit of lower electricity bills!
