Hello everyone! My name is Neyla and I am 23 years old. I live in San Diego, California just minutes away from Tijuana, Mexico, where I grew up. When I was eight years old I moved to the United States. Even though I didn't speak English very well, with the help of my classmates and my teachers I was able to embrace the culture and quickly learn the language. That is when I realized that being raised in another country was not a disadvantage. It gave me the ability to better understand other cultures and ways of life!
Ultimately, that is what has inspired me to travel and to study abroad in Paris, France. Not only is it an excellent way for me to improve my French, but it has always been my dream to live in such an exciting city full of magnificent buildings, art, history, and culture. I applied for and recieved the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, which made this dream possible.
In my free time I like to play golf and teach myself how to bake. I even have my own baking business where I make delicious cookies, pies, and colorful cakes. I am eager to share with you my adventures in France and get to know you better! Let's go!
