While Germany might not be as well known for its cuisine as other European countries, such as France or Italy, there are still many delicious traditional foods to try here. You might have heard that Germans love to eat sausages and potatoes, which is indeed true! I've had some of the most delicious sausages and potatoes I've ever eaten here. Germans also make very delicious pastries and cakes. The state of Saxony, where Dresden is located, has many of its own unique specialities. During the fall, there are many Herbstmärkte (Hehr-bst maerk-te), or fall markets, in Germany. These outdoor markets are a great place to try new foods from the Saxon region. I'd like to show you some of the foods I tried at a local Herbstmarkt.
