Meet Anna!

Introduction:

Anna was one of the first people I met at Schiller Gymnasium. She is studying to become an English and chemistry teacher at Dresden Univeristy of Technology. When we met, she was doing student teaching in several classes at Schiller Gymnasium. We immediately connected because she was also a Fulbright grantee in 2016. During her Fulbright year, she taught German to American students at Bard College. We don't get to see each other every day anymore since she finished her student teaching, but we continue to keep in touch.

What is your full name?:

My full name is Anna Engelmann.

Where do you live? What is your house like?:

I live in an apartment in Dresden together with my partner. It's a two-room apartment with a giant living room. Our favorite spot is the balcony.

What is your family like?:

My family lives about an hour away from me in my hometown. My mom is a single parent, she lives together with my grandparents (her parents) and our little black cat, Emily. My family loves living in a small village since they've always had a close relationship to the nature, which I sometimes miss here in the city.

How do you get around?:

Fortunately, Dresden University of Technology offers a semester ticket that every student can use to get around the city and the entire state of Saxony.
