I would like to introduce you to one of my students, Noah. He is an eight year old boy in the sixth grade at OBS Letterland, a primary school in Almere Poort. This is the equivalent of third or fourth grade in America. Once my Dutch students learned that I would share these answers with students in America, they all wanted to contribute!
I eat bread for breakfast. My lunch and dinner change depending on the day, but I enjoy eating pancakes for lunch and brown beans for dinner.
My home is big compared to other houses in the Netherlands. Otherwise, I don’t think it is very special. My friend’s home has four floors and the fourth floor is full of LEGOs!
At home, I take out the trash and walk the dog. I'm sure that kids in America do similar chores!
My dad is a policeman and my mom works for the Council of Amsterdam. I’m not sure how to explain my mom’s job in English! (Ed. Note: The American equivalent must be a municipal worker.)
