I love exploring new places and trying new things, whether by going for a run, hiking up a mountain or even rappelling down waterfalls in the Amazon with my mom. As someone who loves the outdoors, Ecuador has become one of my favorite countries because of the many different places to see.
One of the things I love most about Ecuador is how diverse of a country it is. Even though it’s actually similar in size to the state of Colorado, Ecuador offers pretty much every type of environment you could ask for. I live in the Highland region, or the area in the middle of Ecuador with beautiful mountain ranges. The Highland region (in my opinion) has the best weather, with highs generally in the 70’s (Fahrenheit) and lows in the 50’s every day. Off to the west is the coastal region, with hotter weather and miles of beaches. Finally, there’s the Amazon rainforest in the east of Ecuador, which is also beautiful but a little less enjoyable weather - hot and humid pretty much year round. During my time here, I have been so lucky to explore many regions of Ecuador. It amazes me every time I visit a new city because it feels like a completely different country!
