When I began writing about a day in a student's life, I instantly knew who I wanted to interview: Iason, which is a Greek spelling, but he goes by Jason in English. He is a senior at the high school where I teach, the football (American soccer) team captain, a student council representative, and all-around standout student. He was excited to share his daily routine and to pose some questions to you all — I will report back to him with your answers!
A note on style: since Jason is a busy student, we conducted this interview over email. Thus, I've edited some responses for clarity and concision. Any changes that I have made to his writing will always be noted by ellipses (...) or brackets ([ ]), and I have tried to keep edits minimal.
Usually, I don't eat breakfast because I'm in a rush for school. Sometimes, I'll get a bagel from the Starbucks [near our school], but that's sort of rare. At lunch, I grab a salad from the canteen* and eat it during break, and that's become a favorite of mine. And for dinner, usually my mom will cook something at home. Her [pastitsio] is the best in Greece, I'd say.**
