What Can YOU Do to help cheetahs?

Journal Entry:

What exactly is meant by the term "conservation"? Conservation is defined as "the careful preservation and protection of something." There are many ways that someone can contribute to conservation without having to be out in the field. For cheetahs, you don't need to set up trap cameras, train livestock guarding dogs and scat dogs, or speak directly with farmers. There is plenty you can do from the comfort of your own home, school, or daily activities!

Education and Outreach

Education is the most important aspect of cheetah conservation. Teaching all of your friends and family the things you've learned throughout this virtual exchange can teach someone something valuable and maybe they'll want to conserve cheetahs too! Teach them about how cheetahs are endangered and how it isn't helpful to only "like" cute videos of cheetahs on social media, which fuels the very real and illegal pet trade. Teach them about all the other ways you can engage with cheetahs in this article!

Continue learning yourself too! Through books, TV shows, podcasts, or however may you like to explore resources, because there is a lot of informative material out there to help you keep up with cheetah conservation. You can also sign up for the CCF newsletter and find our resources on our website: www.cheetah.org.
